Baffles me that people not from Philadelphia complain about a market in the heart of North Philadelphia! That neighborhood has 2 housing projects near it so you are not from Philadelphia and expecting what you came from.

Their hot food catering is delicious. I was nervous because I had such a big order ($800) but I called ahead and they reassured me that it would be ready. I walked in to pick it up and everyone from the department came out to make sure I got exactly what I ordered. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The food was delicious, I kept having folks ask me where I got it from and they were so surprised it wasn't some expensive high end catering company.

I shop at The Fresh Grocer because the Name is perfect and attractive to the thought of purchasing healthy foods. The store is very neat and clean on a regular basis-daily. Any store location I go to is the same! You can find employees to service your needs when you need to find someone. That's a plus for me. It's quiet, peaceful, good low key calm music in the background. I love the relax feeling of shopping in a good, peaceful, relaxed mood. The isle signs are clear and easy to read and find almost any produce and products you are looking for easygoing. Neat and in order. Seafood section is wonderfully displayed and freshly inviting to the eyes. Managers are visible and speak to you. I love that. A top quality food market place to shop for all your tasty foodstuffs. Have a great day!

This is not a Wegman's or Whole Foods or Trader Joes (oh how I wish there were these stores around). However this is owned by the same company that owns ShopRite. Good: - The only decent grocery store in Templetown, which is quite sad. So needless to say, I am told that this store is always busy. - hot food bar/prepared meals (American food, Chinese food) - Small sushi counter - Deli counter - hot soup counter (4 different types of soups) - large grocery store - pretty decent vegetarian sushi rolls Bad: - pretty busy most of the times, I am told - not a lot of organic fruits and vegetables Ugly: nothing Pro-tip: go either before or after lunch hour to avoid lot of crowds and long checkout lines.
